    associations that represents over 60% of the renewable fuels production from 30 countries;
  • Member of the Steering Committee for a European Union-funded project called "BioTop", headquartered in
    Munich, Germany: Biofuels Assessment on Technical Opportunities and Research Needs for Latin
    America, Seventh Framework Programme of the Commission of the European Communities;
  • Founder and Chairman of the Argentine Renewable Energies Chamber, an industry non-profit based in
    Buenos Aires, Argentina;
  • Founder and President of the Fletcher Club of Buenos Aires, an alumni association of the Fletcher School
    of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University;
  • Member of the Latin America Biofuels Advisory Board of Santiago & Sinclair, a private consultancy that
    develops biofuels projects in Latin America.
  • Board member of Latin Renewables, SRL, an investment group startup developing agroindustrial and
    biofuels projects in Argentina.

Mr. St. James obtained his Bachelor of Arts (BA) from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois, USA and his Master
of Arts (MA) in International Relations from
The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University in Medford,
Massachusetts, USA.

Awards and Recognitions
  • In May 2009, the European weekly Recharge News ran a profile of Mr. St. James under the title, "Carlos St.
    James, president of the Argentine Renewable Energies Chamber: Zero to Hero in Two Years"
  • At the end of 2008 Mr. St. James was voted "Biofuels Personality of the Year" by readers of Biofuels
    Digest, reflecting his efforts to promote awareness of the potential that clean energies have to redirect Latin
    American economies, as well as his efforts to develop new leadership for this industry.
  • Mr. St. James was chosen Conference Chairman of the World Biofuels Forum 2008 in Prague.

Professional Experience
Before founding Santiago & Sinclair, LLC in 2002, Mr. St. James worked at a number of large multinational firms.  
He was a Vice President of Westpac Banking Corporation in San Francisco, California; Director of International
Business Development at Dell Financial Services in Austin, Texas; and Regional Manager of Mercedes-Benz
Leasing Mexico in Mexico City.  He brings a wealth of corporate experience and two decades of international
business know-how to the table.

Personal
Married 20 years; two sons.  Primary residence in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  Born in Chicago, Illinois, USA and a
citizen of the United States and of Argentina.

Carlos St. James is a business leader in the clean tech industry in Latin America.  He
is the Managing Director of
Santiago & Sinclair, LLC, an advisory firm focusing
primarily on Latin American markets.  He is also the founder and President of the
Argentine Renewable Energies Chamber ("Cámara Argentina de Energías
Renovables
"), a non-governmental, non-profit industry trade association dedicated to
the sustainable development of an industry that includes biofuels, solar, wind,
geothermal, biomass and energy efficiency within its scope.

                          CARLOS  ST. JAMES
Equally fluent in Spanish and English, he has been a speaker at conferences in
Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, the Czech Republic, Germany,
Korea, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Spain and the United States. Very knowledgeable
in legislative matters pertaining to renewable energy in the region, he communicates
regularly with business leaders, government officials and the banking and investment
sectors to maintain the pulse of the burgeoning biofuels and renewable energies industry in Latin America --
especially regarding the manner in which it will affect markets in the more developed economies.  He also has
extensive experience in developing public transportation systems from his work at Mercedes-Benz Finance in
Mexico and as owner of a urban transit system in Guadalajara in the '90s.

He is the
author of a number of published studies on the development of the industry in Latin America, is quoted
regularly in global and specialized press, and has hands-on experience in the acquisition, permitting, production
and sale of biodiesel plants.
